How much do you care to see the lost get saved and the prodigals come home?
"And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." Luke 14:23 (KJV)
We went street preaching this today, just like we have done nearly every, single Saturday since March 24, 2012. The Lord has given us an outdoor pulpit at the corner of St. George and Hypolita Streets, and a "congregation" numbering in the thousands, made up of locals and tourists from all over the world to preach to. We have been blessed to see many get saved, lost prodigals come home, and have prayer with a countless number of people who stopped and asked for prayer.
But today I saw something that made me mad. Really mad.
Just a few blocks down the street from where this photo was taken, there was another group of people also holding signs. But unlike our signs, they did not use Scripture. They had one large sign which said this "All Homos Will Burn In Hell". They had no gospel tracts to hand out, only that large sign, and a whole hatful of hate.

So I stopped and asked the man if he believed that homosexuals could be saved. He didn't answer me, he just looked dead ahead. Again I asked him is he thought that God could save even the worst of homosexuals, he grudgingly muttered something I couldn't quite hear, but I think he agreed with me.
So then I asked him if that was true, why wasn't he trying to reach the lost LGBT person with the Gospel? After all, Jesus did die on the cross for them, too.He said "fags deserve to burn in Hell", and with that I walked away. But not before I told him that he was in violation of the Gospel call to reach the lost. As we walked away, it made me think. How many times have I been in hardcore, fundamental Bible churches in my life where the preacher from the pulpit bashed homosexuals like it was the only sin you could commit. I have heard multiple pastors says in their sermons that "queers are not welcome in this church!".
Is homosexuality a worse sin than fornication, or murder, or lying, or gossip, or pride...? No, it is not.
Don't get me wrong, God hates same-sex "marriage", and He hates everything associated with the LGBT lifestyle just like He hates all sin. But ask yourself this, does it really matter which sin sends you to Hell? I don't think it does. Does God "hate queers"? No, He shed His blood to save them if they will receive it. But how will they hear without a preacher??
It used to be only
Westboro Baptist that had the market cornered on moronic hatred of gays and anyone else they didn't approve of, but not any more. I am seeing more and more Christians opening their mouths and pronouncing eternal Hell fire on any and all gay people. This is very wrong. As Christians we are called to love the unlovable and tell them about Jesus Christ so they can get saved. That's our mission. People don't go to Hell because they're homosexual, they go to Hell because their lost and don't have a Saviour. When was the last time you told a lost homosexual lovingly how to get forgiveness of their sins and get saved?
