7 - And they asked him, “Teacher, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?”8 - And he said, “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.- Luke 21, ESV
Note: Jesus said, "See that you are not led astray"
It seems that the matter of being deceived is up to us! Therefore choose carefully which preacher you listen to, and please continually read your Bible so that you can weigh all teachings against the Word of God!
10 - Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 - There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. 12 - But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you ... 16 - You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. 17 - You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. 18 -But not a hair of your head will perish. 19 -By your endurance you will gain your lives.- Luke 21, ESV
Note: Jesus said, "But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you".
Persecution will come to the Body of Christ, world-wide, before the great and fearful wars and earthquakes predicted here, in Revelation and elsewhere. Some of our brothers and sisters are already experiencing this persecution in the Middle East and in Africa. Pray for them today ... to remain faithful to the End, to have the grace to forgive their persecutors, for miraculous intervention should the Lord will, and for them to speak boldly the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His coming Kingdom to their persecutors ... for tomorrow you may need such prayers yourself.
20 - “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near. 21 - Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it, 22 - for these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written. 23 -Alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and wrath against this people. 24 -They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
- Luke 21, ESV
For those who are left behind and miss the Rapture (the Rapture is revealed in Matthew 24:31 and discussed
HERE), they will see Jerusalem surrounded by armies and they will witness the most terrifying rage and anger being poured upon Jews that the world has not seen before. It will be the time of the "Gentiles" trampling Jerusalem underfoot! God uses armies of the world to do His bidding (see
HERE and
HERE) so the natural eye will see armies of men surrounding Jerusalem and slaughtering the Jewish people. Do not think that there is no spiritual connection to such devastation! This will actually be God's doing ... His Wrath being poured out,
as He told us ...
as He purifies His people from the sin of rejecting His own Son, and as He gets them ready to receive Messiah Jesus in His Return to rule the Earth.
34 - “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. 35- For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 - But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”- Luke 21, ESV
Question: Can you see that you are actually able to avoid ... or "escape" ... "ALL these things that are going to take place" on the Earth?
"How?" you might ask.
By obeying the Word of God and doing what it says to do; by watching that you are Rapture Ready and not letting yourself become side-tracked or "weighed down with dissipation or drunkenness or the cares of this life"...
noun \ˌdi-sə-ˈpā-shən\
: the process of slowly disappearing or becoming less
: the act of using all or a lot of money, time, etc., in a foolish way
: behavior that shows you are interested only in pleasure, money, etc.
... and by watching that you are not deceived into believing God is something other than what the Bible tells us about Himself.
Watch out for deception, dear readers, and watch out for a carnal or sin-filled heart which loves the pleasure of this world more than loving God and His commands and purposes for our lives. Love God with all that is within you, and your neighbor as much as you love yourself. And pray that you will be "
counted worthy to escape (or
avoid, or miss)
all these things that shall come to pass" (the KJV, Aramaic Bible in Plain English, Jubilee 2000, AKJV, Douay-Rheims, Darby Translation, Webster's, World English Bible, and the Young's Literal Translation all state "
counted worthy toescape")
