Will satan be ruling Hell?
December 2, 2014 by IsChristSoonToReturn.WordPress.com
There have been professing Christians who have given testimonies, over time, about visiting Hell. The few that I heard have told of satan’s (and other devils) power in Hell to torment and hurt those in Hell, as though satan is the chief angel in Hell, ruling and giving orders and hurting all who are doomed to this eternal place of torment.
But since I have left the Charismatic Movement, in 2012, I have been reading and re-reading the entire Bible in context, weighing all previous thoughts, doctrines, and teachings that I received, against the Word of God.
And so I wanted to post Scriptures today which tell of satan’s time in Hell, to see if indeed satan will be “ruling Hell” as a dictator and lord or if he will actually be in for a time of eternal torment, to help others learn what Scripture actually says about this event.
Isaiah 14
7 – The whole earth is at rest and quiet;
they break forth into singing.
8 – The cypresses rejoice at you,
the cedars of Lebanon, saying,
‘Since you were laid low,
no woodcutter comes up against us.’
9 – Sheol beneath is stirred up
to meet you when you come;
it rouses the shades to greet you,
all who were leaders of the earth;
it raises from their thrones
all who were kings of the nations.
10 – All of them will answer
and say to you:
‘You too have become as weak as we!
You have become like us!’
Isaiah 14:10 shows us that satan will be WEAK and not powerful in Hell! He may have power to deceive and trouble people during this present age, but he will not be leading, or deceiving, or troubling anyone once he is confined to Hell!
Reading further in Isaiah 14, we read:
11 – Your pomp is brought down to Sheol,
the sound of your harps;
maggots are laid as a bed beneath you,
and worms are your covers.
Isaiah 14:11 shows us that satan will also have no pomp or glory or position of authority in Hell! He
will be covered with worms and maggots, the same as every disobedient person who will end up in Hell (Mark 9:43-49).
Isaiah 14 continues:
12 – “How you are fallen from heaven,
O Day Star, son of Dawn!
How you are cut down to the ground,
you who laid the nations low!
13 – You said in your heart,
‘I will ascend to heaven;
above the stars of God
I will set my throne on high;
I will sit on the mount of assembly
in the far reaches of the north;c
14 – I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’
15 – But you are brought down to Sheol,
to the far reaches of the pit.
16 – Those who see you will stare at you
and ponder over you:
‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble,
who shook kingdoms,
17 – who made the world like a desert
and overthrew its cities,
who did not let his prisoners go home?’
18 – All the kings of the nations lie in glory,
each in his own tomb;d
19 – but you are cast out, away from your grave,
like a loathed branch,
clothed with the slain, those pierced by the sword,
who go down to the stones of the pit,
like a dead body trampled underfoot.
20 – You will not be joined with them in burial,
because you have destroyed your land,
you have slain your people.
Here, Isaiah 14:16 shows us that there will be no one who will be afraid of satan once he is over-thrown by the Lord Jesus Christ. He will be thrown into Hell (vs 15) and people will be astonished that such a weak creature ever had any ability to deceive and torment the Earth’s inhabitants at all. Note: I have no idea if only the people alive on earth will see satan in his weak state, as described in Isaiah 14:16, or if the people in Hell will be able to see this as well, but one thing is for sure, and that is that satan will be weak and without authority even in hell! (Isaiah 14:11).
And then there are the Scriptures found in Ezekiel 28 which support these statements, as we read:
11 – Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me:12 – “Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God:“You were the signet of perfection,a
full of wisdom and perfect in beauty13 – You were in Eden, the garden of God;every precious stone was your covering,and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings.cOn the day that you were created they were prepared.in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.
15 – You were blameless in your waysfrom the day you were created,till unrighteousness was found in you.
16 – In the abundance of your tradeyou were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned;so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you,e O guardian cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 – Your heart was proud because of your beauty;you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor.I cast you to the ground;
I exposed you before kings,to feast their eyes on you.
18 – By the multitude of your iniquities,in the unrighteousness of your tradeyou profaned your sanctuaries;
so I brought fire out from your midst;it consumed you, and I turned you to ashes on the earthyou have come to a dreadful end and shall be no more forever.”
Ezekiel 28 confirms what Isaiah 14 taught, which is that satan will be a weak, despised, and lowly creature, with no authority or management position in Hell. He will be “turned to ashes” (Ezekiel 28:18) even on the Earth in the sight of the people who will still be alive at the End of the Wrath of God, and all the peoples will be appalled at satan’s weak and dreadful (or “horrible” – NIV or “terrible” NLT) end!
.
And below is another thought … Isaiah 66 says:
22 – “As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,” declares the Lord, “so will your name and descendants endure.
23 – From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,” says the Lord.
24 – “And they will go out and look on the dead bodies of those who rebelled
against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns
them will not be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind.”
Isaiah 66 teaches that those alive in the Millennium will be able to actually see into Hell and see the dead covered in worms that do not die, and covered in fire that never stops burning. I believe they will also see satan at this time, and again, they will be “appalled” by satan, amazed that the great deceiver has come to such a pitiful and weak end (Ezekiel 28:19 and Isaiah 14:16).
Question: Where will this opening into Hell be, so that all the inhabitants of the Earth can look upon those who are dead?
.
The Bible does not say, but every year all of the inhabitants of the Earth who are alive during the Millennium, must go before the Lord yearly, to worship. (This teaching is found in Zechariah 14:16-21.)
Will it be somewhere around that geographical region, that an opening into Hell will be seen, where the people going up to worship the King of all the Earth, can look down into Hell to see the torment of the dead?
Will it be somewhere around that geographical region, that an opening into Hell will be seen, where the people going up to worship the King of all the Earth, can look down into Hell to see the torment of the dead?
.
And think of this: At the end of the Millennium, satan will be released from his torment in Hell to once again deceive the inhabitants of the Earth. (This teaching is found in Revelation 20:3 and in Revelation 20:7-10)
What person in their right mind could go yearly past an opening into Hell, and see and hear the torment of those held captive in Hell for all eternity, and then when given the opportunity at the End of the Thousand Year Millennium, rebel against the King of kings and Lord of lord, the Lord Jesus Christ?
Now that is some powerful deception that satan has over man-kind! And that is some huge hatred against God and some wickedly sinful hearts that people have, who will turn against a King Who brings peace to Earth!!
.
It is absolutely mind-boggling to me.
.
And to me, the whole scene shows the mercy of God Who will give people a visual of Hell for 1,000 years in order to try to convince them to stay away from the eternal torment of Hell by staying away from the great deceiver, satan, when he is released at the end of the Thousand Years.
.
And people, the mercy of God is speaking today too, trying to warn us all to stay away from the great deceiver, whose end will be in a weakened state, in an eternal Hell of fire and torment.
.
I pray that all who read this post will indeed stay away from false doctrines of devils (by weighing all teachings against the Word of God!) and stay away from the sin which so easily entangles us!
.
Please people, cling to Jesus Christ and His Word in order to save yourselves from the Wrath of God which is soon to come and from eternal Hell.
Are you ready for Christ’s Return?
